I want one of these for my trip! Not only can I listen to the radio on the train, but it will keep my cell phone charged as well on the trip! And, it will be handy for Burning Man! Anyone care to purchase me a late birthday present or early christmas present? :)

Got A Bed!
I have been debating about what kind of bed to get for Burning Man. I had narrowed it down to a couple and was just waiting for the right sale or sign to get it. Then I found this one on freecycle!
It isn't the exact one I wanted, as its lower to the ground. But, can't beat the price! I love how the universe provides!
(P.S. I used a new blogger feature for this post, so, if it looks different, thats why! Testing it out!)

Pillows Pillows Pillows
Part of being part of my theme camp is that we are creating a lounge on the playa. That means we need to bring in comfy things to sit on, cuddle with, etc. Obviously I can't fit a couch into my car, but, another thing we need are pillows. Everyone in camp is being asked to provide at least 5 pillows (or stuffed animals, etc) to the camp. Pink of course. Well, I have gone a little pillow happy. I keep getting pillows and have the fabric to cover them. But, I realized yesterday that there is no way I can bring all these pillows with me down to BRC! HELP! So, I think I will be mailing some pillows down to my camp mates in california for them to load on the truck. But, please, for now, if you see me buying more pillows, spank me!

More Prep And Shopping!
I am back and recovered from a great, yet stressful weekend in Oregon, for one of my cousin's graduation from college. That is a story in itself that I will reserve for another day. hehe But, I must say that I made sure to make time for a little shopping down there. Oregon is full of great little shops and NO SALES TAX! hehe
Here is a picture of my awesome coat I got at this little thrift/antique/consignment store that was litterally in the middle of fields of crops...seriously...
It was 80 degrees outside, but, I wanted to get a picture! $4 for the cashmere coat! I got some other little items there as well, but, this was the best find of them all for sure!
Slippers I got. They are WAY too big for me, but, thought they would be awesome for a friend of mine. hehe
Slippers to wear around camp :)
More shoes...pink with hearts.
There is lots more that I got. But, thats it for now. :) Excitement is building for sure. I am going to take this week and get organized. I feel like i have been buying stuff and don't have an actually handle on what I have and what I need.

Miss me?
Yes, I know. I have been a horrible horrible blogger. Between getting really sick, being tired, a little depressed and just not feeling like writing, I have been bad about posting. I will try to see what I can remember and post.
Planning for Burning Man is coming along nicely. Getting things daily and setting them aside. Talking with new friends and creating craft projects in my head that I have NO CLUE how I will execute.
Got 8 yards of this fleece fabric for free. :) Was not sure what to do with it. As of now, I am thinking that I am going to make adult footed pajamas to wear at night. Get a teddy bear backpack with some lights and some fuzzy slippers! :) It will keep me warm for sure and cute, but silly.

Hawaiian fabric :)
More cool fabric. Not sure what it will turn into. I am thinking a halter top.
I also got an awesome purple fur fabric and a silver shining ....
Awesome pillow I found! :)
This is a dress I got from hot topic. I had been eyeing it for awhile. But, it was $62 and no way would I pay that much! I saw it once on clearance for half off, but, still didn't get it. Well, when they were having their super clearance sale, I thought I would check. And, they had one in my size and it was only $15. :)
found these cute trinket boxes for cheap at a yard sale. Squishy and I decided to get them out and start painting! :)
Squishy painting boxes!
Speaking of Squishy....she is going to be quite the busy girl this summer. We were able to get her an audition with another local theatre company that is doing a teen musical this summer. It is group she has not worked with previously at all. Her audition went GREAT and she got a call back this last weekend. They cast her as a lead. Well, one of the best friends of the lead..but still, a lead. :) She is so excited. But, this means even more work! Rehersals start tomorrow! The musical is called "13" and is a new one. Just was on Broadway in 2008. Music is great! :) It is going to be a fun show for sure.
Memorial Day weekend was rainy and cold. Seriously, it did not get over 60 the whole weekend. Craziness! Sam left for a church retreat Friday evening. I got a call at about 11 that she hurt her knee again. We decided to wait it out until morning. Well, he called again about 130 because it had swollen more and she was in so much pain. So, after some discussion, we decided they would take her into the ER and my mom and I would drive the 2.5 hours to meet them. Ya...170 miles one way..funtimes at 2am. Her knee is okay, it just needs time to heal. We had breakfast at a local 24 hour diner and Squishy really wanted to stay and camp. So, I let her. I will admit that I spent the remainder of the weekend worrying, but didnt hear from her. When I picked her up on Monday, she did admit that she probally should have come home. But, still had fun. She couldnt go hiking, but, did get to go river rafting and other stuff.
I really need to get on a schedule. My sleeping schedule has been all messed up and I have been napping too much. I am hoping to start correcting my schedule this week. I also have to get some house chores done. I hate doing housework and such. Anyone want to come over and just keep me company? I wont even make you work, I just seem to work better when someone is here!
I am sure there is more, but, that is it for now!

Yard Sales!
Went to yard sales today! Yippee! Got some awesome deals! :) Super excited!
Really awesome sleepingbag thing! As you can see, this sleeping bag is also like a jacket, with arms, a hood, button up and it even has a zipper for your feet so you can either walk around or sleep with your feet out!
Cow fabric. It is very thick: feels like denim actually. It was hand made into a table skirt thing. But, it was too cool. Who knows what it will become!
Two metal tins with XXX on them. Very sturdy and thick. They metal will get hot so nothing that will melt can go in them. But, other goods can be stored in them. Two small igloo water cooloers! :)

We also found some awesome things for gifts, plants for mom, an amazing dress for Squishy, tons of books for her and alot of other stuff that I can't even remember right now. Part of going to yard sales is the amazing people you meet and get to talk with! We had a great sunny day. After getting home, organizing everything and then going to pick up Squishy from dance, I totally passed out asleep! Just woke up. Guess I am still sick!

Pillows! The red ones are sqaure and really fluffy! (will be covered with pink fabric). The pink ones are a little smaller, but still fluffy. I also got a light pink twin sheet set to the fabric. The keds/converse shoes will make neat things once I bling them out and the slippers, well, I just liked them.

Fur coat! :) It is awesomeness for sure. I also got a vest, but, didn't take a picture of it.

Day 3: Get Physically Active
I walked alot today. :) Enough to make my back hurt, so probably a little too much. I forgot I was doing baby steps. But, that is okay. If you look at other posts I made today you will see that we went to the fabric store, I scored a tent. But, we also walked around the mall, as I had to exchange some things. (white sundress for a hot pink one that I originally wanted, but, the store up here didn't have it in my size. But, the store in Tacoma did!) I can feel the energy from my body being released and my muscles releasing lactic acid. I need a massage or a hot tub! :)
Tomorrow: help others....

Fabric!!!
Squishy and I went to the fabric store this afternoon in search of great deals. We had a blast! Here are some pictures of material that I got. I am thinking some will be good for pillows, maybe flags, who knows what else.
The purple with butterflies I am going to make a top or something out of! The animal print will probally end up as a dress, but, nothing is set in stone! :)

Tent!!
Today was a good craigslist day! I was looking at tents last night and called about one near me. Went to go pick it up and, as it turns out, they had another one they just hadn't listed yet. And it is even better! Originally part of a set of camping stuff, just the tent is left. Here is the picture, but, I just got the tent!
They had it set up and I got to make sure that everything was in working order and no mold or anything :) Yippee! I also got to help disassemble it, which was good. The couple was super nice and it was great talking with them. :) I think there is plenty of room in this tent, it is approx 13 X 10, so, I don't think I will need to take my smaller 7X7 tent now. But, what do you think? :)
Race Car Tent?
Here is a neat tent I found on Craigslist this evening. Might be kinda cool for the playa. Although, it is FULL of advertising, so maybe not. But, would be a neat item. What do you think?

Mother's Day Weekend...
Wow. What a crazy event filled weekend. Friday during the day I finished up cleaning/working on my room in order to make space for my new bed. Yes, I will be the first to admit that I have been a little obsessed with this since I bought it two weeks ago and talking about it alot. But, this is a big deal for me. :) My mattresses are no longer on the floor like a silly college kid! hooray! And, it goes along with me getting shit in order and organized. Not just letting stuff sit around. So, Friday an old friend came over to help me, and, to my surprise, my daughter agreed to help as well. It was actually fun spending time with her. :) And, we made really good progress. It most defiantly helps having people either helping me or just here with me talking. By the time I knew it, it was time to take my daughter down to her friends house to spend the night. I then hung out with my friend Jodie for the night. It was great. Good times!
While I was driving I get a call from the delivery guys saying that they will be here between 7am and 11am Saturday morning. WHAT! That is a worse window than the cable guy and who really wants furniture delivered at 7am! CRAZY. So, I did have to come home semi early Friday night, knowing I still had clothes in the living room to move out of the way of the furniture guys. haha Well, I took a chance and set my alarm for 8am. Woke up and yep, not here yet and no call. Put the cats in the garage so that they would not get out and would get out of my way! (Our spoiled cats don't like change and with all this moving around stuff, they were not happy!) Moved my mattresses and swept and mopped the floor, had some tea....then get a call about 9ish saying they would be here in ten minutes. They get here about half hour later. They were really great, nice guys and I super appreciate them. I don't know their names, but, I think I will write a letter. I really should do that more often....anyway....Got my bed all set up, they left, let the cats out of the garage and went to take a nap. Didn't even make my bed! LOL And yes, my cats came to investigate. Emeralde (my black one) liked the new bed and location. But Safire (the grey one) is not happy that I took away her pillow by the wall and her leap pad up to the window. haha
Wake up from my nap in time to go pick up my daughter from the post office. YES, post office. She and the youth group were volunteering to help with the letter carrier food drive. She would have stayed all day, but, she had a dance rehersal. This was the start of me really feeling like a taxi! Rehersal was supposed to last 4 hours, but, they got done early and my daughter wanted to go back to help with the food drive. She also really wanted to go with her friend to babysit for her cousin, who as it turns out, I went to high school with...ya, small world. I called my friend to make sure this was fine and discovered that she and her husband were going out to a birthday party downtown and really wanted me to go with them. So, got dressed and went out with them (had a great time downtown at the Baltic Room). My daughter and her friend watched my friends boys and then hung out together. They were mostly asleep when we arrived home about 2am, so I left her there. Thank goodness my friend's husband drove them to church this morning! My daughter co directs the childrens choir and they were singing today, so, she had to there at 8am....YUCK!
Well, I got to sleep in today. Can you tell I like to sleep in. yes, I am a horrible night owl. haha Picked my daughter up from service and went to brunch with my mom at this new mexican restaurant that she likes. Good low key times. OH! But, there was a little excitement. My kitties are indoor kitties. Yes, they do get out occasionally, but, its not something we let them do. This morning my mom was out in the garage and had the garage door open and left the door open to the house. Well, both cats went out. About half hour pasted before she even thought about it. (I call her forgetfullness chemo brain from when she had chemo for her lymphoma a few years ago.) Well, when it was time to leave to go get my daughter, we realized the cats were outside. I went outside to look for them and Emeralde was just sitting next to the car and came running right to me. I don't think she was diggin the heat outside too much. But, we could not find or hear Safire anywhere. So, we left, thinking we would check back. After lunch we decided to go shopping, but, figured we should check back at the house to see if the cat was ready to come back in. Nope. Still no sign of her. Which is weird. When she gets out, there are certain spots she likes, but she was no where. We all were worried a bit, but, also kept saying...she will come back. So we went to the mall (more on that later). Mind you, it was hot today here...about 70ish.....When we came back about 3 hours later, we opened the car door and Safire was meowing so loudly behind the garbage cans in the shade, I thought my daughter was being a goof. Well, we got out of the car and then the silly cat ran under the house in the crawl space! Yep, that is where she had been. The grate was open for some reason and she was hiding under there. Well, she came in a short while later, drank some water and passed out asleep on moms bed. Dead asleep. Guess she had an eventful day!
Shopping....okay, JC Penny has this new reward program thing. Where if you register you can get $10 for every $50 you spend. Well, when we bought my bed and moms mattresses, it added up to like $40 of these $10 coupons. So, we decided to go shopping! The catch with these is that you have to find an item that is at least $10.And, at first we thought you couldnt combine them, but, then we figured out you could. So, we had fun and ended up with ALOT of stuff and only spend like $60 bucks. Among the items we got: Mom: 500 thread count sheet set, blanket, couple tops; Samantha: 3 pairs of shorts, tops, swim suit, camisole, twin bed set (sheets, comforter, pillow cases, sham, skirt), Me: camisoles, an AWESOME purple sparkly jacket for Burning Man, sundress, couple tops; My friends baby: 3 summer outfits for my favorite baby! I think there is more but I can't think of it. We got ALOT of stuff and had so much fun. And, we still have alot of coupons left. LOL
We were invited to go to a BBQ over at my cousins for dinner, but, we were all tired from a long, eventful weekend. So, we ordered pizza instead and just hung out. Sam made her bed with her new stuff, I made my bed (washed everything) and mom FINALLY drained her waterbed. Although, as of 11:30 its still draining so she wont be sleeping on her new mattressses.
We had an exciting, fun filled and productive weekend. Now I am going to rest, as tomorrow is the start of another crazy week.

Misc Stuff!
Yesterday I went to go pick up some medicine at the pharmacy, but, it was not ready. So, I had an hour to kill. So, guess where I went? I went over to the Goodwill in Federal Way. Didn't have much time and didn't get a chance to "dig in" but I did get a couple dresses and a couple water bottles. Which is awesome, since Sam needs them for her dance class thing in May as well as rehearsals for her upcoming show. And, I found a purple one! :) LOVE IT. (The other one is exactly the same, but it is teal.)
On Tuesday evening, I got to meet an old friend for dinner. The day had been a typical spring day in Washington: sun, rain, blue sky, rain, thunder clouds, hail! Well, when I pulled up to the restuarant, the rain stopped and this awesome site greeted me. (Too bad I couldn't get the whole thing, it was an awesome site!)
I figured I would post a couple pictures of my cats Safire (the grey one) and Emeralde (the black one). Mind you, Safire is not a snuggly cat, in the normal sense. She likes being around us and near us, but not snuggly or being petted. Except on the rare occasion. Here is one of those rare occasions!
Emeralde likes to be petted and is more snuggly, mostly at night. She likes to lay with me.
I need to get back into my room. Working on cleaning it, going through things and organizing it so my new bed will have an awesome space to live in when it gets here a week from Saturday (May 8th)! Anyone need anything? I am getting rid of stuff! Part of me wants to save it and have a yard sale, but, I have been putting stuff on freecycle too. Or, I may just start taking stuff to the goodwill. But, would rather at least get something for it! LOL Or, know it is going to a good home through freecycle or to one of my friends or followers! LOL So, if you are in need of something, let me know. We have a lot junk to get rid of.
Oh! We are also looking for a new house to move to. Long story, which I might get into sometime in the near future. So, I am starting to pack stuff away too. LOL Yet another reason to get rid of stuff.
My friend is coming up this weekend from Portland. She is going to be here most of the summer (as long as the plan works out). So excited to see her. I won tickets to a comedy show Friday night, so we are going to go hit that and see what trouble we can cause. She has some awesome costume and gifts ideas for the playa as well. When we start making them, I will post pictures. :)

Shopping Trip!
Been a few days since I sat down to write anything. But, that does not mean that I haven't been thinking about Burning Man, or figuring out how to get there and items for it. LOL
Shoe Shopping
This week we went shoe shopping for Samantha. While we were there, I saw these shoes and I really want them for the playa. Although I would have to get some insoles, I think they would be awesome.
I didn't buy them, since we were there for Sam, but, I might get them still. What do you all think?
Goodwill Trip Today
Today I really just needed to get out of the house. So, after I picked up Sam from school, we headed over to the goodwill in Southcenter to look for stuff. We had a blast. I love my daughter. She is not afraid to tell me what she thinks about stuff!
This is a wide brimmed hat with pink trim. It also has some decorative straw thing on it, but, I may take it off. We shall see
(Thanks Sam for taking the pics!)
Although you can't see it very well, this is a knit vest that zips up with FUR on it. FUR! Who doesn't love fur! :)
Another neat hat that we got. Samantha is wearing it (during our JC Pennys trip later). She is in love with this hat too. At first she told me that I could not take it to the playa, since it would get ruined. But, I told her that by September, she would be sick of it anyway. She agreed.
A little lizard for our camp! His belly is full of this material that makes him squishy! My cats loved tail too! He does look angry though. Samantha suggested we make a lemon and put it in his mouth! (gotta love my kid!)
Another neat hat. Although you can't see the detail on it. Sam likes this one too, which means it will end up in her room this spring/summer.
My lizard is on my shoulder saying hi!
I also got two camping chairs, a dress (didn't feel like putting it on) and a cool waterbottle. Sam doesnt like the dress, but, it is flowy and airy and will nice in the hot heat. Samantha got a couple dresses as well.
We also scored an AWESOME Seahawks sleeping bag. It probably won't end up going with me to the playa though, will probably be saved for football season. But, still, its awesome.
My New Bed
When we were done at the goodwill, we got a call from my mom. She was laying on a mattress at JC Penny's and wanted us to come help her pick out a new mattress. While we were there, I found a bed I really liked. After much discussion (and laying on a million mattresses), we decided to go ahead and get the bed! (Thanks for the loan mom!) My mattresses will finally have a place to call home! :)
Here is the link : My new bed!
And here are a couple pics I took in the store.
So that was our shopping trip today. We had alot of fun. Tried on tons more stuff than we actually bought. There were also a couple coolers that I thought about getting, but, I think I can find some cheaper at garage sales.

Free Tent!
Yesterday I scored an awesome tent from freecycle. I told the gal I was headed to BM with it and she gave me her camping shower thing as well. Not sure I will use it or not, but, that was super nice. Now, I must say it was adventure getting this tent. The lady lived out by White River Amphitheater, past the Indian reservation. I haven't been out that far in a long while and forgot how rural it was. Below is part of the email she sent me, with directions on how to find her house after I turned off the road.....
"you will see that it is a one-lane dead-end road. You will drive up a little hill and pass the first house on your left. Then you will pass the cow pasture on your left and then come to a row of mailboxes on the right. Keep going straight as the road turns to gravel. You will pass a white goat on the left and some horse paddocks on both sides. Keep following the road as it forces you to turn to the right. After you've turned the curve, you'll see a dark brown house up on a hill on the left: that's my landlord's house. Keep coming straight and you'll pass the shop (a big red building on the right). As soon as you do, you'll see my double-wide trailer off to the right on the hill. It's tan with a white bench and orange flower pots against the side of the house. Beware of the dog poo - we have two farm dogs that roam. They are both very friendly but will bark to let everyone know you're there and tend to lay landmines all over. Bart, the black lab - he's very energetic and may try to jump up to kiss you, but with the exception of his very hard forehead and his slobber, he's harmless. :) Roxy, the red cattle dog is all bark and acts tough but is really just after some attention. "
See what I mean! :) LOL Who knew in Washington this still existed.....
I assembled the tent and its awesome. (As Sam watched me and laughed since I assembled it in the middle of our living room!) There are some mesh areas I will have to cover, but, I've got time. And, its a little smaller than I want as its only 7X7 and like 52 inches high inside. So, I am still on the look out for one. But, if nothing else, I now have shelter or an awesome storage closet! :)
